Chris is a people developer. She is a quirky, emotional and dynamic and loves to play with teams as they build the best version of themselves. Having worked with thousands of leaders she has honed her skills of creating curiosity, engaging in deep reflection and helping increase emotional intelligence through purposeful design. When her fun, caring and curious side comes together with her agitator side, she has an ability to direct the focus to root causes where change is needed, in a way that is supportive for her clients. This is important because, currently,
“we respond to societal issues with quick technical fixes that address symptoms rather than with systemic solutions. As a consequence, we are hitting the limits to symptom-focused fixes—that is, limits to solutions that respond to problems with more technological gadgets rather than by addressing the problems’ root causes.” (Otto Scharmer).
With the focus on solutions to root issues of today’s complex problems, we’re able to create amazing results.
Chris’ passion for developing people is born in part from a deep commitment to doing the same in her own life. Living her values, and exhibiting the courage to change course, she graduated with an MA in Leadership as a mature student. Chris combines her 25 years of work and lived experience as well as her formal education together to bring the best to her clients. With a large network of quality relationships and deep connections Chris is often the one being a bit ridiculous and having some fun while ensuring deadlines are met and important stuff gets done. Not wanting an office but instead a swing to play on, she is mostly non-traditional and likes to help people find their true selves in their work in order that they may realize what being authentic can achieve and the success that it can illuminate. All that said, be on time and committed when working with her as seriousness does come into play :)
Having travelled across Canada speaking and facilitating experiences for humans who have wanted to expand their knowledge about making positive change in their lives, she has learned that people need to feel like they belong and that they have a purpose and meaning to their lives and work. Disturbed by topics such as truth and reconciliation, global issues, and oppression, Chris brings fun and lightheartedness to exploring heavy topics so that we may see our little place of action to get started with.
Chris loves her dogs, Marsbar and Princess Sophie, is a fan of coffee chats and wine nights with friends who challenge her and love her. With a fascination for colouring, hiking in nature and Old East Village (her home community) she is known for her big smile and warm heart.
